August Market Review
The MSCI All Country World Index (global equities) gained 2.5% in August, and is up 15.9% YTD.
August is historically a weak month for the S&P 500 but not in 2021. It gained 3.0% for the month, and is up 21.6% for the year.
Since 1920 the S&P 500 has averaged a 5% pullback three times a year, and a 10% correction once every 1.5 years. So far the biggest pullback this year is 4%.
